Project Manager with a Focus on Road Maintenance

Job Responsibilities

In the role of project manager, no day is the same! You will work with active project management, handle BAS contracts, customer issues, and further develop relationships with contractors and external parties. You are responsible for the overall management of leading, directing, and following up on contracts for operation and maintenance within your area, and thus make decisions regarding measures, action alternatives, and resource use within the project's framework. Our collaboration with other projects, municipalities, and stakeholders is crucial for road accessibility, which means you will have a socially engaging workday with many contacts such as contractors, media, and the public.

Your job responsibilities include, among others:

  • planning, budgeting, and being active in the procurement process
  • following up and managing contracted entrepreneurs
  • financial responsibility for the projects where you continuously follow up on operations against set goals regarding budget, time, and quality
  • distributing work among internal support resources and specialists as well as external suppliers
  • contributing motivation and inspiration to your project group and creating and maintaining a good work environment and cohesion

The location for the position is Gothenburg. Do you wish to work partially remotely? In this position, there is an opportunity to work from home up to 40 percent of your working time. #LI-Hybrid

Qualifications

Your leadership is characterized by building trust, clarifying direction, and delivering results. Through clear communication about expectations and goals, you delegate and follow up. By being self-driven and collaborative, you inspire, create participation, and drive development together with your team and in collaboration with others. You have a good ability to prioritize as you are proactive, structured, and quality-conscious in your commitments. You also have a good analytical ability.

We are looking for someone who

  • has a university or college education of at least 180 credits (120 points) with a technical focus, such as road or construction, or other education in combination with our experience requirement that we assess as equivalent
  • several years of current and relevant work experience from a leading position (such as site manager, project manager, or similar) within operation and road maintenance and/or road construction
  • good knowledge of contract law, for example, within AB, ABT, and/or AMA/AF
  • speaks and writes Swedish fluently
  • valid B driver's license

It is advantageous if you have

  • experience in operational monitoring and financial follow-up in projects
  • work experience with the Swedish Transport Administration's basic contracts for state road construction
